Coach Oliver Glasner does not expect the speculation about an exit clause in his contract to cause unrest in the VfL Wolfsburg team. Still, the subject doesn’t seem to leave him indifferent.
“I don’t expect any effects,” said the coach of the Bundesliga third on Friday. The Austrian’s current contract is limited to June 30, 2022.
“One part of the contract is that we do not comment on parts of the contract. Next someone asks me: How much do you earn? What about bonuses?”, Says Glasner. “This is not an issue for the public. Otherwise it would be easiest if we put the contract on the homepage and everyone there would pick out what interests them.”
Bundesliga series champions Red Bull Salzburg, where Glasner already worked as an assistant coach, and Borussia Mönchengladbach are said to be interested in the native of Salzburg. At first he had kicker reported on the 46-year-old’s alleged contract clause. Glasner moved from LASK to Lower Saxony in 2019 – also thanks to an exit clause.
“I can only say from my side: I have a lot of fun doing the job here, we are playing a great season and have a great team that is really good.”
