FC Barcelona loses first leg in the cup semi-final against FC Sevilla

Record winners FC Barcelona have to worry about reaching the finals in the Spanish Cup. At league rivals Sevilla FC, the team of superstar Lionel Messi and national goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen lost 2-0 (0-1). Jules Kounde (25th) and Ivan Rakitic (86th), who was only eliminated from the Catalans in the summer, met for Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League round of 16 opponents.

The second leg at Camp Nou will take place on March 3rd, the 30-time cup winner Barcelona needs a victory by three goals to reach the final. In the second semifinals, Athletic Bilbao and UD Levante will face each other on Thursday and March 4th.
