Agents of the National Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of injuries and another of threats aggravated by the use of a knife, committed against minors during a non-federated 7-a-side football match played at a sports club in the city in which the detainee acted as a referee.
The agents have explained in a statement that during the game, one of the players reproached him for one of the decisions made, to which the detainee reacted violently, hitting the minor with a punch to the chest and a strong slap to the faceto immediately later extract a bladed weapon from between his clothes and go against the player again with the knife in his hands to seriously threaten him.
The event forced the rest of the players from both teams, as well as a large number of people who were watching the match, to invade the field to stand between the man and the childthus avoiding a new aggression.
Another player from the opposing team that of the victim, also a minor, also participated in the serious threatsfor which reason he has been identified and informed of his actions to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office that will settle his alleged responsibilities.
The referee and the player they quickly left the place in a vehicle before the arrival of the police officers, however the agents have identified them and have collected evidence on the events that occurred, proceeding to the arrest of the adult on the morning of last Thursday.
The minor was transferred by his father to a health center in the city, where he was assisted blow to face and torso and where he was issued a medical assistance report that has been attached to the police report.
